Things to Know

About Insurance4Truckers

Insurance4Truckers is a commercial trucking insurance agency specializing in helping owner-operators and small trucking fleets find coverage. We work with multiple carriers including Progressive, Geico, Cover Whale, and secondary markets through Mike Hughes.

Commission Structure

This is a commission-only independent contractor (1099) role. You earn commission on every policy you bind. The more you quote and close, the more you earn. There is no cap on income.

Your Role as an Agent

Your primary job is to contact leads, gather information, submit quote applications, present quotes, and guide clients through the binding process. You are the point of contact for your clients throughout the entire process.

Primary vs. Secondary Markets

Primary markets (Progressive, Geico, Cover Whale) are your first stop for every quote. If a client doesn't qualify for primary markets, escalate to secondary markets through Mike Hughes at [email protected]. See the SOPs section for the full submission process.

Quoting Best Practices

When people are interested in a quote, always try to have a phone call with them. Ask about their business. No one is interested in them — everyone just wants their money. Always ask and let them know you want to be their agent. Warn them about scammers — many people have wired money and never heard from the agent again.

Text Message Etiquette

When responding to texts, keep it brief — DO NOT write a book. If you have more to say, call or email them. When texting for a quote, start with the basics: Name, birthdate, license#, state and CDL years, Vehicle VINs and Value of each, Cargo type hauled, Owner's info if not a driver.

Always Enter Quote Details

Always enter the details in quote.insurance4truck.com. This data will be stored and will be very useful for you in the future. In our quote tool, under the owner — for best results enter the actual personal address for the Owner. Our tool pulls the DOT Address and uses it where needed for the quotes.

2

Keep your CRM notes updated every time you attempt contact, make contact, or receive documents.

3

Upload all client documents (App, QS, MVRs, IFTAs, Loss Runs) to the client's OneDrive folder.

4

When a lead is Sold, create a customer profile in the CRM with carrier, policy #, and premium amount.

5

Never post ads in major nuclear verdict hotspots first: Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami.

6

Keep all communication on the Insurance4Truckers email & phone number provided. It is all there to protect you.

Independent Contractor Status

You are an independent contractor (1099), not an employee. You are responsible for your own taxes, schedule, and compliance with your state's insurance licensing requirements. Keep your license active and in good standing at all times.
